Omar El-Sharkawy
Omar El-Sharkawy joined LanzaTech in September 2021 and serves as its VP of Corporate Development. Omar has over 10 years of experience as a public and private equity investor, investing broadly across the capital structure in the energy, real asset, infrastructure, and energy transition sectors. He was previously a Vice President at Captona Partners, an energy infrastructure investment firm, where he led and structured investments in the renewable energy and clean fuels sectors, and a Senior Associate on the investment team at Concord International Investments, a long-only equity asset manager, where he led investments across the real asset sectors in multiple emerging market countries.
Omar holds an MBA from University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School and a B.A. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis.
