Dr. Laurel Harmon
Dr. Laurel Harmon is VP, Government Relations for LanzaTech. With over 30 years’ experience in policy and technology development, her focus is on policy and regulatory matters relevant to LanzaTech’s commercial activities and on securing government funding to advance and demonstrate LanzaTech technologies. Laurel joined LanzaTech in 2011 from Striatus Incorporated, where she provided consulting services for proposal and project development. Previously, she was a technical co-founder of Nonlinear Dynamics Incorporated (NDI), specializing in applied pattern recognition and data management for the chemical, pharmaceutical and automotive industries. Laurel also worked at ERIM, a non-profit research organization to conduct applied R&D for a variety of defense and other government customers, where she developed and managed ERIM’s first major biomedical imaging program.
Laurel is a board member of LanzaJet, Inc., Vice Chair of the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), and technical expert in the ICAO Fuels Task Group for CORSIA. She received her Ph.D. In Physical Chemistry, and M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Michigan, and a B.Mus. from the University of Colorado.
