Maryann Maas
Maryann Maas is an accomplished IP attorney with an extensive background in intellectual property portfolio management, IP operations, and strategic IP advising. Prior to serving as Interim General Counsel, she was Vice President of Global IP at LanzaTech, Inc. She continues to manage an extensive IP portfolio that includes over 800 active patents, trade secrets, and trademarks.
Before joining LanzaTech, Maryann was a founding partner at Paschall and Maas Law Office, LLC, an IP boutique firm, where she provided expert advice on IP-related matters and led patent preparation and prosecution efforts in the chemical and chemical engineering sector. Her career also includes a tenure as Chief Patent Counsel at Honeywell UOP/HPS, where she managed a patent estate of over 9500 patents and directed a large global team to successfully execute patent strategies aligned with business goals.
Maryann holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a registered attorney with the USPTO and was admitted to the Illinois State Bar and the Northern District of Illinois.
